The shape of Air Jordan 1 was inspired by the popular AirForce 1 that year. It also reduced the thickness of the midsole, reduced weight, and increased the feeling of closeness to the ground. It also used an Air Sole air cushion in the back palm and the most classic flying wing logo from Peter Moore, Nike's creative director at the time.
