Air Jordan was launched in 1985. It was Nike's first basketball shoe named after Jordan. It was this pair of shoes that started an era. The shape of Air Jordan was inspired by the popular AirForce 1 that year. It also reduced the thickness of the midsole, reduced weight, and increased the ground feel. It also used the Air Sole air cushion in the back palm and the most classic flying wing logo from Peter Moore, Nike's creative director at the time.
